try it and if you put the hd as slave its going to be hdb when the software asks

hi guys need some help on which way to go from here... I have A sa 2 TCD24004A I ordered instantcake and the iso file was 190 MB.. I have used nero over and over to burn the disk... I have also tryed it in my Old( Win 98) ComPaq now running xp.... I have tryed everything I know.... I have looked at the instructions and went word per word and its still not working.... I burned other Pgrgrams and they Boot fine in the Compaq. THe Iso file I downloaded is named -- Instantcake-TCD2400040-401b02 Its about 188 Mb.. someone tell me where to go for help or Instruct me... I will appreciate everything that U can do.... ok... thanks guys Daddy1 (William):D

I managed to create the proper setup and it turns out the disc that I purchased for a TCD24008A is the version 4 for a TCD240040. I guess that I have the disk that you need and it is no good to me. Needless to say I'm not very happy about it.

Need advice

I downloaded the correct InstantCake (TCD24008A Ver. 7), I have set up a hard drive as primary master, disc drive (DVD-RW) as primary slave, and my target hard drive (WD 320GB) as secondary master. I have an ASUS P5AD2-E Premium motherboard. I have tried every configuration possible and all I can get is for the computer to recognize the blank master hard drive and the disc drive as primary slave. It recognizes the second hard drive but not as being on the secondary master. When I run InstantCake it stalls dev/hdc saying that no drive is present. Any suggestions as to how I force the mobo to see the hard drive as the secondary master? :eek:

for the drive to be on hdc it has to be on the secondary ide cable as primary master
also try putting your cdrom as primary master on the first ide cable

Do you absolutly have to have a primary and secondary IDE connections in order to use InstantCake?

I had to put the hard drive on secondary IDE as master and the cd rom also on the secondary IDE as slave also had to go into setup and disable primary IDE master and slave and auto detect secondary master and slave change the boot sequince to 3.5 floppy then cd rom then hard drive and worked fine just remember to remove cd from the drive so you don't mess up your windows drive.

YOU WILL ONLY LEARN FROM MISTAKES !!!
