I recently used Instantcake to upgrade a S1 SA Phillips 112 to 2 new drives - added a cache card - and now am enjoying Tivo quite a bit. I'd like to add the bufferhack to expand the live recording buffer time to 60 minutes.

I'm also new to Linux...
I've read the howto if you are adding it to a system that has been setup using the other tool sets or hack image's but am struggling witht the placement of the bufferhack bianary file in relation to the ptv file structure.

So far I've secsessfully downloaded JJBliss's latest bufferhack32a to my pc.

Extracted the files,
Used telnet to mount my tivo drive as Read/write,

added a new directory off of the root named 'newhack',

FTP'd the file bufferhack32a to /newhack.

change to that directory /newhack/bufferhack32a.tcl
made the file executable using
'chmod +x bufferhack32a.tcl'

Then executed it './bufferhack32a.tcl' -rebooted.

After the reboot I go back to my newhack directory
Then ' ./bufferhack32a.tcl 60 q 'per instructions

bufferhack30.tcl <(q)uiet mode/(s)ilent mode>

It appears to take all my commads however I do not get an expanded buffer AND the unit will lockup while adding or deleating recordings.
Since the bufferhack32a file is not in my rc.sysinit.author file a reload takes me back to normal w/out lockups.

Any advice ???
Thank you, Jon
