I searched the forums but couldn't find the answer to this:

I told my friend about InstantCake and he got all excited. His only concern was that he has a lifetime subscription. Especially when I told him he could get up to a 300GB hard drive.

Will InstantCake work for him, or does he need to copy the data from his original drive? Where is the lifetime subscription stored? On his account card or on the hard drive?

He has a Tivo Series 1 Stand Alone (I'm not sure what model he has).

thanks!

Your subscription will NOT be affected; its tied to the serial number of the unit.
