I'm running the latest version of tnlited, which utilizes a login/password routine. My only beef with it is that it echo's the pw as you type it, but beyond that, it works great.

I don't know if it was the older version of tnlited, or some other app in the tivonet package that I used originally, that, yes, offered unchallenged access into the tivo. That made me nervous, so I switched to the newer version of tnlited.
