I'm using TyTools to extract programing from my DirectTV DVR. Then I use VideoReDo to remove the commercials and store the file as a MPEG. Now I'm trying to upload them on to a Toshiba Gigabeat S running MCE. When I try to sync. using Windows Media Player it won't convert the files to WMA's. it gives me an error. I know there are converters out there but I'm wondering is there anything that would shorten the process? I don't want to convert the MPEG to WMA then delete the MPEG's. Then upload. I'd like to remove a step. Any Ideas?

Two years ago, I purchased InstantCake to install a Seagate 300gb on my TIVo; and it worked great. I recently purchased a Seagate 750gb. I tried using InstantCake on it, but the two attempts were unsuccessful. . . . Is there a hard drive size limitation with InstantCake? If so, what is the limit? . . . Is it possible that my two-year-old software is out of date, and I need to buy a new copy?

Originally, Series 3 and HD TiVos shipped without two key components... TiVoToGo and Multi-Room Viewing (MRV). This November, the latest in TiVo's line will get them back. Check out this (lengthy) thread on the TiVo Community. In the thread, Bob Pony (TiVo representative) makes the following statement... I know you've been anxiously awaiting TiVoToGo and Multi-Room Viewing on your Series3 and TiVoHD boxes. I wanted to let you know that development has been progressing smoothly, and all is well. You can expect TTG & MRV to be available for Series3 and TiVoHD this November. These features will provide support for video transfers between Series3 & Series2 systems and between a Series3/Series2 system and a PC. High Definition content will not be supported for transfer or playback on a Series2 system (Series2's just can't play HD), and copy-protected High Def or Standard Def content cannot be transferred (same as our current Series2 products).

Anyone have one of these? My brother-in-law has one (he also has a TiVo), and he loves it! It plays all kinds of media, including iTunes and BitTorrent stuff. If you don't know what it is, you should check them out. Especially right now. MyDigitalEntertainer.com is having a contest right now, and for the price of taking a short, four question survey, you can win one of FOUR of their kick ass HD units, the EVA8000. Even if you have a DVR it doesn't matter; the EVA streams content from your PC to your TV. Why not have both?

Hello everybody Thanks already for replying and I am sorry if this was already answered before. My Question: I have a DirectTV R10 and as far as I read there is no way short modifying the Hardware to get the Feature TivoToGo. Can I buy a cheap TIVO which supports TivoToGo hook it up on my DirectTV Account? Do I have to pay TIVO their $ 10.00 a month fee to be able to use the Feature TivoToGo or is the $ 5.00 a month fee I pay DirectTV right now for my R10 enough? What is the cheapest way to get Files from my TIVO to my Computer after I bought a new TIVO? What would be the best TIVO Box out there to use the TivoToGo Feature. Thanks for all answers. Anyone know if there's any development going on right now to bring SlingPlayer to the BB platform? I've heard rumors, but nothing concrete so far.

I am able to control the HR20 that is set to the default code. However, the second one which has been modified to use the AV1 setting, cannot be controlled. I have tried the following alternate codes: 00002, 00003, 1377, 1379, 1380 As my presence here suggests, none of the codes work.???? Please can anyone help me with my problem? Can I flash the 700 with the firmware for the 700E? If not, I will have to buy the unit back from the person since I sold it to him thinking it would be able to record as a Pocket Dish.
Recently I just added a Slingbox and a Slingbox Pro to my gear. The Slingbox Pro I hooked to our main DirecTiVo system and the Slingbox is currently hooked in a guest room (while I play around with another DirecTiVo). Thank goodness I had two Slingboxes hooked up or I would've missed NFL last weekend when I was out of town working and my wife was on our main TV. What are your experiences of dual slinging?

I've been looking around for some encoders (and tried a few like SUPER), but have been unable to load a film onto the player that ti can read. The very limited manual says it reads MPEG4 at 25 FPS using audio G.711? Can anyone help me to find the right encode/transcoder for this player? Thanks

Archiving Sling Content to a PC and Beyond

I recently had the pleasure of test-driving a Slingbox connected to a network with several DirecTV TiVo systems. It was great to experience how easy the basic setup was and how quickly I could access content already recorded on my TiVo systems while sitting at my desk. My ideal scenario is offloading programming to the PC and converting to DIVX so that I can watch programs on my Archos AV500 while mobile. I'll call this "nomadic placeshifting" for lack of a better term - the point is, offline viewing of "slinged" (slung?) content is what I'd like to be able to do. Is anyone familiar with a way to easily capture and convert content served up by the Sling interface? Yes, I am familiar with the 'extraction' methods which involve modification of the TiVo and decryption of media as its recorded - this is a DMCA no-no, however. Using the analog method chosen by Sling, its completely legitimate; but I'm not certain if Sling then encrypts some of the data and/or whether its accessible without causing other problems. Is this a technical issue? A policy issue? Both?

Welcome to the official contest thread for the "Win a Date For Your DVR" DVRplayground contest. To learn about this contest, and how to win a free Slingbox , please review the contest details . We know your DVR is lonely, so it's high time you tried to get it a date! How? Write a personals ad for your DVR! Think of your DVR as your best friend (you know you already do anyway), and try to find it a special someone by telling it's age, interests, hobbies, location, neighbors, etc. For example, a personals ad for my 7-year old Panasonic Showstopper PVHS-2000 would read: They don't make 'em like me anymore! I'm a Distinguished, "Single" tuner DVR from Chicago seeking a placeshifting companion to fill the empty void that is my S-video jack. I'm a well-aged Replay TV unit, 7-years old, and a lovely shade of dark gray. Don't let my age fool you! I know I'm a little older and slower than younger DVRs, but I can still get up and running in 10 seconds flat! I reside in a clean, high-tech neigborhood complete with a big screen TV and surround system, so there's plenty of other folks...

Hands down the Best Media Player on the Mac. http://videolan.org . then download more internet: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/16066 add protocol tivo and tell it to open with vlc. next you need to modify the tivoweb module ui.itcl. Find the line that says Code: set delete_td "$delete_td [td [html_link "/asx/$fsid.asx" "View"]]" change it to say Code: set delete_td "$delete_td [td [html_link tivo://192.168.1.106/$fsid "View"]]" change the ip to your tivo's ip (duh) lastly edit tivoweb.cfg to say TyShowLinks = 1. restart tivowebplus.
