COMCAST PACE DVR, TRANSFER THE SHOWS?

Good evening everyone: I have a PACE DVR with Comcast, is there a way to transfer the shows I have to my PC? I tried connecting my DVR to my router and use look at LAN to find it but it doesn't see it. Is it possible to transfer the shows or is it a no no? I wonder if the USB port is even active that's why I tried the ethernet option. If this has been covered before I apologize beforehand!! Thank you so much!

Commercial Skipping on Comcast Motorola Dual-tuner DVR

We used to have a Dish Network DVR and LOVED the 30-second skip forward function. We just switched to Comcast and the Motorola DVR does not have this feature, but does have the "skip back" function. Is there a hack to create this feature? If this is an in archive and I missed it, I apologize in advance. Thanks! Jim

Set to record from website??

I'm not sure if this is possible for the DVR that I have but I was wondering if anyone knew of a website that I could go to where i can lookup shows and setup recordings from that website? I know if you go to Yahoo you can set your TIVO on yahoo.com to record any show you want. Same with MSN but it has to be a windows product DVR. I have the standard Motorla DVR (I dont know the exact model yet) you get from Timewarner cable. Is there a website I can go visit to setup a recordings while I am here at work...and to cancel recordings for that matter?

Help with connecting DVR to DVD recorder

Hi, I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD, I wanted to take files from its hard drive and burn them onto a dvd using an external dvd recorder, I had a few questions about this process. 1. How do I hook up the DVR to the DVD recorder? 2. I am using component cables (to get an HD signal) to connect my High definition tv to my Scientific atlanta DVR, If i use composite cables to connect my dvd recorder to the dvr (which only give a digital signal, NOT HD), will there be problems when i record to dvd? 3. I am using easy setup mode on my dvr and everything is displayed in 1080i, will this be a problem when recording? 4. Do i need a specific type of dvd recorder? I was looking into the following: http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0926INGFS10085730&catid=20210&logon=&langid=EN&test%5Fcookie=1 should it be sufficient to record files? thank you

We have a Comcast Pace DVR. Is there a way to hook it up to my PC and transfer the saved programs? I have Adobe Premiere Elements for capturing and burning digital video. I don't see a FireWire port on the back of the DVR, only S-video and USB. If it is totally impossible to directly transfer the digital content, then I guess I will have to copy to VHS and then transfer that to the computer, but then we will loose quality.
