Simple question, I hope . .

I've had a S2 Tivo for some time, but only want to use it like an old VCR for recording over the air broadcasts. When I bought it the salesman ( who wanted the sale ) said sure, I could do that. Not mentioning that there was a HUGE fee to subscribe to Tivo. . . I don't need to pay $12 a month for a TV Guide. By NOT subscribing my Tivo refuses to work . . . Is there a way to bypass the subscription and just record programs over the air ? Thanks in advance for any help. Bruce

Hello everyone, New to the forums. I have a 2.5 Standalone which I did the Prom mod to. I have TivoWebPlus installed and everything works great. My issues is I'm trying to get the gotomydvr to work. I have followed this to a "t" http://www.dvrplayground.com/article/13912/gotomydvr--Administer-Your-Hacked-... but get an error when I type this is. GA_googleFillSlot("DVRPG-IMU-Article"); sh /var/tmp/b_install.sh States, sh: /var/tmp/b_install.sh: Permission denied I have tried to select my Tivo on the gotomydvr site and it states tivo must be disconected. Could someone please tell me what I have done wrong? Also If I have placed this in the wrong area please feel free to move. Thank you

I picked up one of these at a yard sale for like $2. It worked so I hacked it with instacake. Everything worked, but I'm cornfused about how you get it to tune channels to record. Does hacking it turn it into a stand alone or do you still need the tivo service? Cornfused

RCA DVR80 Got it off of ebay *WORKS!* yeah right.. when i got it. it booted and loaded tivo but thats all.. "clear and erase all" asked for a parental code i didn't have, so i took the drive out of it partitioned and formatted it, the hard drive seems to be in working order but my instantcake cd wouldnt work in my desktop tower.. keyboard wasnt detected (tried 3 differnt keyboards.. vmlinux mustn't like the tower) took an old 333mhz tower from my basement keyboard was found instacake said it was succesfull but the motherboard didnt have the "missing pin" in the ide socket. so i removed it so my ide cable would work.. the hdd is still way too big for the old bios to detect it.. but instacake seems to find it alright. instacake restores the image and says it was successful but my tivo just reboots after maybe a minute or two.. so i went back to istacake and bought 6.2a and it does the same thing.. now before i break down and buy a hdd from weaknees i want to make sure i didnt miss something. or if i...
