HELP Networking ISSUE

Newly installed PTV net. I can telnet and ftp into the TIVO, but cannot establish an HTTP connection. This is vexing me. I can ping, the router sees the box. My network is as follows: DSL router running 192.168.0.1 subnet Netgear router connected to it, one side on the 192... subnet Netgear router uses DHCP 10.0.0.0 subnet. Laptop connects through wireless side, Tivo and another computer through hub then into hard-wired connections on Netgear. The netgear router sees the Tivo in i'ts device list HEL:P

1 line into dvr but need dual capabilities.. more complex then basic changes

Hi guys, About 6 months ago i talked my father into changing from cablevision to directv. When the installer came to the house there were a few reasons (mostly our reasons not installer) that he had to use the existing lines that the cable company had hooked up to connect to 2 of the tvs in the house. Im not sure but possibly 1 of those lines was ran into the receiver Im referring to in this thread.. This was a standard receiver from directv... Well for Christmas I bought my father a directv non HD dvr for his "man cave". Basically the setup is there are 5 receivers hooked up throughout the house. The 1 in my room from day 1 was an HD DVR. This has 2 lines going into it from the dish on the roof. That dish has 2 lines also running directly into the basement where it hits the mini multi switch. Heres where the problem begins. The line running from the output of the switch going into my fathers man cave is in a spot where only 1 line can fit. Meaning I cannot just run another line from the switch into the back...

post upgrade guide data issues

40 gig 540 s 2 single tuner. Finaly got aroung to upgradign my beloved tivo with some more drive space .. using a 750 gig 7200 baracuda pata drive. Instacake seemed to bake it just fine .. Installed drive ... c&de ( took almost 3 hours ) .. guide setup .. connect .. download .. system update .. restart .. c&de once more .. numerious forced connections .. numerious reboots .. clear guide data .. reboot .. download ..( ect ) and for some reason it will complain about guide data has run out. can someone perhaps point me at the button to fix this .. preferable before I throw the old 40g back in and just forget this idea. Not a newbie to computers at all. So even a comment like 'edit the params dd uses to write the inital image' would work for me. Kinda frustrating. Ive had the pile of drive and cd on my desk now for a while but FINALY got a chance to do the upgrade .. and now my tvio is not so happy Any ideas ??

Motorola dct6412 III not deleting

Hey Guys, Here's the deal. I have a motorola dct6412 III that I found in a house I was cleaning out. I hooked it up to my tv and I have a subscription to Cableone basic cable package. I was only using this for the dvr capability, but later found out it gives me the digital and HD channels. Its been working fine for about 8 months. But now when I delete any shows that I have recorded to free up memory space it deletes the show from the list but increases the percent of memory used. Im at about 80% full and fear when I delete to record more it will eventually say no memory left. Is there any way to fix this? And if its a factory reset, will it upload my info to the cable company alerting them of me using my dvr as appossed to renting theres and paying for the extra channels. Thanks in advance.

Dish DVR Like PC Software?

Does anyone make software for the PC like the Dish DVR? We have broadcast television, and it seems to be a crap shoot what kind of channel browsing software you get with a new digital television and there is no way to record anything that's on the air. I'd like to go PC only, but I don't know enough about where to get the best rated software setups. ~Joe

Can anyone show me where to start?
