With pilot season kicking into high gear perfectly coinciding with LOST coming to an end, one of the biggest mysteries surrounding the show, well, aside from the whole deal with the island and all, involves the question as to what’s next for the ridiculously talented ABC ensemble. After-all, just because Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly >pre-emptively put the kibosh on the obvious JACK AND KATE PLUS EIGHT spin-off that fans (okay, we) were so desperately clamouring for, doesn’t mean there’s still hope for the rest of the cast. Which is why, before the ink dries on Daniel Dae Kim’s contract to headline the upcoming HAWAII FIVE-0 reboot by CBS, we wanted to take the opportunity to pitch an alternative, inspired by our favorite Toronto TV critic Bill Harris.

CHUCK As the majority of CHUCK fans busy themselves with burning creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak in effigy following last night’s episode that had Chuck and Sarah heading further down their respective relationship rabbit holes that are Hannah and Shaw. We thought we’d take this opportunity to throw a few logs on the fire, but for a different reason entirely. That reason: Chuck versus the Budget Cuts. We’re just sayin’, there was absolutely nothing awesome about an episode that was entirely Jeff, Lester and well, Captain Awesome free. Particularly when the funny threesomes replacements were a really bad Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy impersonation courtesy of our two least favorite characters Ellie and Morgan. HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER Since CBS insists on ruining our post-Super Bowl party with the likes of SURVIVOR, CRIMINAL MINDS and Sunday’s super-lame UNDERCOVER BOSS each and every time they get the chance. What was a very funny and smartly crafted instalment of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER thanks to the very funny argument surrounding “duck or rabbit,” a memorable callback to the ‘naked man,’ and one of the smartest Ted one-liners to date (”Don = Donald = Donald Duck”) â was slightly less...
