my desktop has only cd sata drives. when trying to start up instantcake I have tried all the given different combinations of drive destinations to indicate the cd drive but nothing works. 

Since there doesn't seem to be any posts concerning this problem, what am I missing??

my system does have a IDE cable which I did connect to the hard drive but am unable to connect my CD-ROM because it is sata only.
