I'm currently a Comcast customer with a DCT3412 - HD - DVR.  I'd like to expand the recording capacity of the disk...  or even have the ability to record from it (as yet another way to bank more programs).  I cannot find much data on this Motorola model....except that I don't have any options.  Anyone able to advise...?

Thanks

This thread seems to mention a possible solution. I have not tried it myself. I have DirecTV, not Comcast.

On some Motorola DVR's there is an e-sata plug on the back. An e-sata external hard drive can be connected to it. But the connecter is turned off by comcast and charter, maybe others.
On the old Circuitcity web site it gave rough instructions to turn on connector. That website does not exist now. But the info is out there somewhere.
