so I can put a bigger HD. Because of our use of HD, and in two weeks, my programs are at 50% full. I need to find a bigger HD than the standard one (I'd LOVE to put in a TB HD) if I can...

A simple step-by-step instructions will suffice...

That's fine for a TiVo, but the HR21 isn't a TiVo.

A better place to look would be on DBSTalk.com

Note that the HR21 does not ADD a drive, it replaces the drive, so all your current content would be lost unless you transfer it over (difficult but not impossible).

If losing your current content is OK, then the very easy way is to add a TB external "eSATA" drive. At current Frys's prices the WD "green" TB drive plus an Antec MX-100 eSATA enclosure will set you back about $200. You just plug it into the back of the HR21 and reboot. Instant TeraByte.

Weaknees will do everything for you for a fee (currently about $450): your current recordings copied to a new TB internal drive in your HR21. See Weaknees upgrade page
