Hello from Maine,

I have the DirectTV DVR R15, I am a computer tech and was simply curious about transferring my recordings from the DVR's hard drive to my computer's hard drive, to later convert to DVD. But It sure didn't work. So I fired up Google and here I am with annoying noobi-Q's, please be kind and give me a clue

I am to understand that the R15 is sux, can not be "upgraded" or "hacked" at all. I am happy to buy a different DVR, what model is the best? I want to be able to :

1. Copy my recordings to my computer.

2. Put in a big hard drive.

What DirectTV DVR is ideal for this?
