I had this problem.. when linux is booting does it say "keyboard timeout - AT keyboard not detected"? another way to check is try hitting caps lock when your on the screen where it says "hit enter to continue" this IS where your getting stuck right? if I'm right your keyboard isnt being detected and your using a dell box... try this again in a differnt tower.
