I do not like to run wireless unless the connection carries some type of encryption.
Has anyone enabled encryption on the Tivo Wireless connection? if so what type ? 64-bit, 128-bit?
WEP ? WPA-PSK [TKIP]? WPA2-PSK?

I can't speak from personal experience (my Tivo is networked with a hard line), but I was able to find some info on Tivo's support site. Looks like WEP is supported. WPA is also supported, but only if you get the official Tivo "Wireless G" adapter. Here's where I found that info:

It looks like encryption is only supported on versions I do not yet have (I just rebuilt my drives with Instant Cake which brings it to 6.2a). I have placed an order for the wired USB adapter so I do not have to worry about encryption. Thank you for a quick response.

Good call. If you don't mind running a wire, I do think the wired connection is the way to go. Better download rates, more secure, and less setup hassle.
