Hello,
Baked a new HD for this unit about 10 months ago. I was able to access unit via IE for several months, but never really used it that much. Further, for about the past 4 weeks, I can't access the unit with IE. Using Angry IP Scanner, I can find the IP address, and using the Linksys setup program in IE, I can find the DVR in the DHCP Clients Table, but I can't connect via IE. I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" message.
A couple of days ago, as I didn't use IE to access the unit much anyway, I thought I'd force a call to Directv DVR service, but I had forgotten about PTV Net. I was able to force the call, and it downloaded something, but the software version remains the same.
I'd like to be able to do one of two things without having to pull the hard drive and baking it again as I have a lot of recordings on the HD:
1. Preferably, I'd like to get the unit to accept the new programming even if it overwrites the PTV Net software, without overwriting the recordings.
2. If I can't get # 1 to work, re-establish connection via IE so I can use this site to figure out how to update the software via telnet/ftp, etc.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Never mind about this thread. Decided to re-bake HD with the original 6.2 ISO. All is working fine, but am now wondering if withouth PTVNet, the unit will get updates from DTV. Started another thread with that question, though.
