Unplug the unit for a good 15 to 30 minutes. reboot and see if the problems with the remote are gone, then try the drive again. If not, there maybe a system controller or main power supply issue I'm afraid. If that's the case, you should return the unit to the manufacturer or someone who is authorized for service. Good Luck

My model 212 seemed to work ok after replacing hard drive, but then sometimes recorded partial progams, or not at all. A program marked "save until I delete" disappeared. In all these cases, the Now Playing display showed them being present. The hard drive seller doesn't think the trouble is in their product, but will check it if I send it to them. I have done the full delete & restart. This morning it was on live TV, & wouldn't respond to the remote. After restarting, it is on Tivo Central & won't respond. Any ideas?
Thanks, Carl

Thanks for the reply. I have found the problem with the remote. It had changed the remote code to that of my other Tivo. I am testing it now to see if the other problem has gone. I don't think so, because if programs were deleted while deleting on the other Tivo, wouldn't it be gone from Now Playing too?

No I do not see how the remote code changing would delete from the other player if you were using it to delete, unless the codes are so close that on the delete function of one may delete the other as well?
