I used instant cake6.2 to upgrade the system... when i boot it, the USB network adapter lights up.  But then i apply the PTVnet to it, the network adapter no longer lights up. 

 I first used instantcake with PTVnet all at the same time.. no lights..no dice...

Then i grabbed another hard drive out of another tivo (still the HUGHES HDVR2)

and tried the updates again...  do them all at once,,, nothing lights up..

 apply instantcake, it lights up... then PTVnet - and nothing lights up on the adapter..

I have tried it with 2 different (same model) Dtivos.. 

 am I just missing something here?

  have tried network adapters SMC 2202,  3COM 3c460b, and even a wireless netgear MA101 - the Wireless one lights up.. but I cant find a way to configure it.  I would rather use a wired adapter - but they dont respond!

BTW.. all of these adapters work just fine on my series 2 standalone tivo - so i know they arent bad.
