article says,  "TOSS OUT THE TIVO"

basically saying the Premium and Ultimate versions of Windows Vista

includes Microsoft Media center which allows many TIVO functions on

a PC.

They also recommend an addon for the DVRSTOOLBOX from

babgvant.com  called show analyzer which strips commercials

and other neat functions.

Also mentioned is a "remote record service"   ( tinyurl.com/24m/52 )

which allows scheduling to record something using the online TV-Guide.

[my comment: what the heck is this?  If there is a  free remote

record service.... Do we need our own DVRs ?  ]

I am basically looking to schedule recordings from TV airwaves up to

a week in advance so I can look at some good shows when I get

home. ( I usually travel all week  and dont watch enough TV to get

Cable or Satelite and find more good regular TV stuff than I have

time to watch. )
