I have 3 Dtivos all upgraded using ptvnet in Feb/march. All worked great but one has lost connectivity.  The lights on the USB200M are on but no lights on the router port.  I have tried switching out adapters with no luck.  No amout of rebooting is helping.  Obviously cannot telnet in.  I had a serial cable a couple of years ago, but that was before the Big Move and I cannot find anything.  I would just pull the drive and rebuild it but I would then loose all the shows.  This is a 2 drive configuration (120 and 160). No phone line connected.

Any ideas on how to proceed.  I have searched the forum but have not found the same set of circumstances.

Thanks all.

Have you tried a different port on the switch? That may sound like a stupid question, but ethernet ports can "go bad."

I heard a quote once "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people" :Just kidding!  Good point.  I had the Tivos segmented off on a switch, tried several ports and then tried several empty ports on the router (linksissy WRT54g).  No luck.  Now, I have not tried a different cable.  That just involves a lot of moving things around because I do not have one to go from the basement (switch) to the family room (tivo).  I will give that a try in the morning.

This is a two drive system.  Will there be any problem using MFS Tools to copy the important programs off?  I tried using MFS Tools a couple of years ago and could not get them to work.  Don't remember what I was trying to do.  Most likely user error or the old box I was using.

 Thanks for the reply.

How about using a short cable and connecting it to the switch (bring switch to the TiVo)?

FYI, my setup is WRT54GS > switch downstairs > switch in...my shed. I have a TiVo connected directly to the router, one connected to the switch downstairs, and one connected to the switch in the shed. The other two connect via WRT54Gs in wireless bridge mode.
