Purchased and used instant cake on our two DSR6000's, had everything

running great then we received the 3.5b from directv. To fix we followed the

instructions at:

http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=297372&page=8&pp=30

Reinstalled the drivers and LBA48, everything was working fine again until

4/12 when both DSR6000 units stopped making daily calls. after a reboot

I am able to make a test call no problem but the daily calls just hang at

preparing to call.  Is there a way to fix this daily call thing without wiping the

drives? - Thanks

Never did get a response from DVR Upgrade other than since I purchased Instant Cake and did the install myself I am on my own.

Shortly after my first post both boxes began to reboot at least once a day, so I gave in and called D*TV they "upgraded" me to the R15 100hr recorders. Have had them running since last week, while not tivo they work and on the up side dont get hot like the DSR6000's did. Was able to put the entertainment center glass door back on.

As soon as I get the recordings off the DSR6000's I will put them up for sale I'm sure someone out there with more time and patience than I have will want them. Heck the drives (80gig & 120gig) and the TurboNet Cards are less than a year old.

My only frustration is all the moneys I gave DVR Upgrade for the TurboNet cards and instant cake only to be offered no support when the D*TV software update basically rendered the boxes useless. I expected better service for my money.

We will miss TivoWeb and Tivo in general but it seems the new boxes work just fine and we can basically do all the TivoWeb stuff via our SlingBox Pro.

I am not familiar with your box, but when I installed instantcake and PTVNet on my HR10-250, there was an option to prevent updates from DirecTV.

When DirecTV issues a new version of it's software, I can use the slicer to install the new version with no problems.
