Newbee help,
I purchased a seagate SATA drive 750GB and in the instructions on instant cake say to do the following:
1.CD Drive Primary IDE Slave
2. Tivo Drive 1 Secondary IDE Master
My question is SATA is different than IDE, no jumpers, how do I make my SATA drive my Secondary IDE Master? do I need a IDE as a master or another SATA drive as the Master with an operating system loaded or not?
Is there anywhere on this board that addresses SATA drives?

Unless you have a TiVo Series 3, you can't use a SATA drive in a TiVo. They are all IDE drives.
If you have a Series 1 Standalone, Series 1 DirecTV TiVo, Series 2 Standalone, Series 2 DirecTV TiVo (including the HR10-250) you MUST use an IDE drive. Those units don't have a SATA connector on the board.
Only the Series 3 supports SATA drives.
