Ok,

I applied PTVnet 6.2 and Instantcake 6.2 to my Hughes HDVR2. It all seemed to go rather smoothly and took about 10 minutes.

When I put the HD back in the unit and booted, I got the "UNLEASHED" screen and all was well. I have recorded with no problem. The problem I have is... you guessed it! I can't get the thing to network. I tried Tivo Desktop, that would "see" the unit but not allow transfers or extractions.

I have it hooked up to a Netgear FA120 adapter and a Linksys WRT54G.

So, after a days worth of searches here and elsewhere, I must ask in total embarassment what I am missing. I'm sure it's something simple.

Thanks in advance.

Go here for adding more modules like MRV Multi Room Viewing

 http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/index.php?

And here for extracting. You need to load TY Tools.

It is possible that the server portion of TWP is not running on your Tivo.

Look at your /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit.author file to see what command should start it and try entering them at the bash prompt.

Got it running!! Another site had a .ZIP of a known good folder so I just smartFTP'd it in there and it did the trick!

Here's the link http://www.mastersav.com/tivo.html . The folder underneath the post.

Now I need to upgrade it to 2.0!
