Until fairly recently, I had no problems telneting into my hr10-250.  This week, I noticed that I could no longer telnet into my hr10-250.  I hadn't telneted into it or used tivoweb in a month or so, so I'm not sure when the problem started.  After pulling the hard drive and booting with the LBA48 cd, I discovered that my old files had been overwritten by the the most recent directv updates.

After creating an rc.sysinit.author file on both the 4 & 7 partitions and copying my hack files onto the /hack directory on the 9 partition, I put the hard drive back in
 the tivo, rebooted and still no telnet. I pulled the hard drive again and the rc.sysinit.author file was missing on the 4 partition.  Obviously, a job for killhdinitrd.  Since I needed a vmlinux, I decided to go ahead and buy the universal boot cd version 11 from DVRupgrade.  After downloading and burning the cd, copying the the 7.2.2-oth-K1 vmlinux from the s2_kernels directory and doing a

dd if=vmlinux.px of=/dev/hda6 bs=1024k

and copying the rc.sysinit.author file from my 7 partition to my 4 partition, I put the hard drive back in and rebooted.  Everything booted fine, but I was still unable to telnet into the tivo, though I could ping it.  I pulled the hard drive again and all the files looked ok.  Both the rc.sysinit.author files were still there.  The file contains

#!/bin/bash

tnlited 23 /bin/bash -login &

I tried changing this to

/sbin/tnlited 23 /bin/bash -login &

and confirmed that the /sbin/tnlited file is there and executable, but still no luck. I looked at the various log files in the 9 partition, but don't see anything in the logs that indicate a problem.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?  I'm running 6.3c on a HR10-250.

thanks
