I downloaded the InstantCake ISO for my hughes HDVR2 and burned it to CD tonight. I then put it in my CD drive and rebooted to see if it worked and it just sat at the BIOS "Load from CD" doing nothing. A second burn of the ISO resulted in the same thing.
However - my CD-ROM is currently in my secondary IDE slot. I have read this configuration has to be changed and plan to do that...but I an now curious if this is why the CD didn't boot or should I consider the first download was bad?
Speaking of IDE configuration - I'm a bit confused....the drive to be TIVO'd should be in IDE Primary Master, while the CD-ROM with the upgrade should be IDE Primare Slave...or am I wrong? (Seen some posts about the drive to be TIVO's being on the secondary).
Bill...
