It appears that the rc.system.author file for setting a static address has changed in instantcake for 6.3c HR1--250. Most of the dvrplayground posted instructions don't apply to the new file since the dec 12, 2006 instructions. I second that. I have added the entries in rc.sysinit.author, but it appears the flags are different. Please update - direct us to the instructions.

InstantCake doesn't provide any networking functionality, whatsoever, so there shouldn't be anything in your rc.sysinit.author file, to that effect.

Instructions for changing from DHCP to STATIC are documented in our knowledgebase here:

And i'm almost certain this information is consistent with the sticky thread posted in these forums.  In the default PTVnet rc.sysinit.author configuration file for 6.3, you will need to add the IP information listed in the article.
