I just recently used ptvnet62-1.10 and instantcake-IC2-dsr704-6.2-01-2-301 on a Phillips DSR708.  Everything seems to be working, but I want to enable the CallerID.  All the posts I have found state that it can be enabled via the hackman module.  However, the hackman module is no longer included.  Is there any documentation on enabling elseed without hackman?

Thanks for the help.

It may not work on your setup, but after a similar upgrade to a HR10-250, I was able to download and install hackman.

I just checked using my box and elseed is in /ptvupgrade/bin.

I haven't tried using it, since I have a wireless phone and just keep on of the headsets in the same room as the TV.

For what's it's worth, I have a PTVNet'd disk that I added Hackman to.

I can start elseed, it shows a starting up message on the screen. But it never shows any CallerID information when the phone rings (Yes, I do have a phone line connected to the '704).

Adding Hackman to the latest TWP in PTVNet is not difficult. Just download it and follow the directions.

Thanks.  I'll give that a try.

I played around with it again yesterday and also got no information showed on the screen when the phone rings.

When I started it with the -e option in a Telnet session and placed a call using a cell phone to the land line, the calling number and name were displayed on the Telnet screen so it is definitely receiving the information.

The thing I didn't try is modifying the rc.sysinit.author file to start elseed at boot time and re-booting the machine.

The few instructions I was able to find for elseed after searching via Google seem to indicate that the re-boot may be necessary before it works correctly.
