Hi, I recently purchased an upgraded drive for a DSR704.  The

drive included TivoWebPlus is v1.3.1 .  However, HackMan is not listed in the

TWP main page.  Is TWP purposely omitted from the upgrade

drives nowadays?  I'm wondering if there is some kind of incompatibility,

or if I have some installation work to do.  Thanks in advance.

There were lots of issues with HackMan and its no longer included in the TWP 1.3.1 release.  We are not integrating it any longer because there are some very nasty things you can do to your drive with Hackman if you are not careful.

Hackman can be a very useful and wonderful tool, and you may see it again in a later TWP release, but right now, if you want it you'd have to install it yourself and be very careful with it.

I see.  That kind of brings up a related issue for me.  One of my DirecTiVo units is currently running TWP 1.2, and another is running TWP 1.2.1 .  I was planning on updating them to TWP 1.3.1 to match my newest unit.  Should I remove HackMan files during the upgrade procedure?  Or maybe if the TWP update is not significant (I haven't looked into the ChangeLog yet) maybe I should stick with the older revs and leave HackMan installed.  Any suggestions/recommendations?

 Thanks in advance.

So, since the ptvupgrade folks have decided not to include hackman in the 1.3.1 version of twp on the new edition of the ptvnet diy cd, can someone please advise me on changing the port number, userid, and password for my series 2 dtivo (running 6.2)?

Though it would not be easy to find them, they are technically open to the internet and I'd prefer to alter the 'default' settings for these items.

I see the tivoweb.cfg file sitting in the /ptvupgrade/tivowebplus directory, but would rather not teach myself how to use the vi editor for this one simple issue....

Thanks.

Thanks everyone for the help!  I just taught myself how to use the VI editor because no one had any suggestions- not too troublesome actually.... I guess I miss the days when people on these forums actually tried to help...
