This stuff if all new to me.  I have reasonably good computer skills, but need general help with putting things on the TIVO.  Is there a general guide for programming?  

Do I use a serial cable to write file to the TIVO.  I tried to put somthing on it using Hackman and an FTP thing.  I just learned waht FTP does.  I need a basic guide for how to write programs to the TIVO.  I was trying to put HMO and MRV on an SD DVR40.  I order and successfully installed an PTVUpgrade Harddrive and figured out how to find my IP and use the features there. 

Any help is appreciated.  Just point me in the right direction.
