I had PTVNet workiing fine with 3.1.5f on an HR10-250 box with was expanded with Instant Cake and two new 350G drives.

I upgraded the box to 6.3a and changed to a Static IP address.

Everything was working fine at first. I could telnet to the box using the Static IP andress and all D* functions worked.

Then I made the mistake  of trying to run Yog's script to Disable Encription, Enable 30 second skip and Backdoors. About halfway through the script, telnet would no longer accept any input and now telnet the box refusing all connections when I attempt to connect via telnet.

I assume that I made a mistake with the script and will need to pull the drive and re-install telnet, but I have some questions.

1. Can I just re-install PTVNet or will I need to run Instant Cake as well?

2.  Since I baked two drives, can I pull just one drive to re-install PTVNet?

While running under 6.3a, my box kept getting slower and slower. It got to the point where there was almost a 30 second delay between pressing a key on the remote and the box taking the requested action. This could be cured for a while by re-booting the box, but the problem soon returned.

Also, when watching either over the air shows or recorded shows, both the picture and sound would freeze about every 30 seconds.

With these problems I pulled both drives and re-installed PTVNet and Instant Cake from scratch. Now my box is back to 3.1.5f and everything seems to be working correctly again.

Yep, 6.3x has problems.  I'd hold off until 6.3 gets a stable release.  When/If that will happen, anyone's guess as it took a long time to get 6.3 out, but hopefully the brainiacs that allowed 6.3x out on the world are working on a fix asap.

I guess I have been one of the lucky ones with 6.3a and have only noticed the improvements.

HR10-250, Samsung SIR-S4120R, SIR-S4080R, 2 Philips DSR704s (one connected to a Slingbox A/V). One box used the "Zipper"; rest used PTVnet to enable networking features.

I did the upgrade and everything is wonderful except I lost the virtual remote in TivoWebPlus. It's in the modules directory but doesn't work anymore.

The virtual remote uses "sendkey," which doesn't work with 6.x software, including 6.2 for non-HD DirecTiVos.
