I shamefully admit I purchased a prehacked HR10-250. It has never been connected to any phone line ever. It is stuck at 3.1.5.

Certainly there must be other units out there that have never phoned the mother ship. What have they done, that I have not to receive slices. Reading other threads it appears the slices are gathered over the sat. I have never received slices over the sat.

I have been told to force a call to get slices. Would this consist of actually connecting a phone line? I do not have a serial cable. And if do connect the phone and force 1 call, will this cause the loss of all the hacks? or will it simply bring slices? will it bring 3.1.5e or f or 6.3 or 6.3a?

And after I force this call, I should disconnect the phone, correct?

And then do the slicer thing?
