Guys,

Is there a hack to force my HD DVR to make the daily call via Wireless?  With Vonage I have no options to update my 10-250.  Is there any way to either download the daily call data to a jump drive or hack my 10-250 so it will oerform the daily call via my existing wireless network ?  Thank you.

With the exception of activating a software upgrade (6.3 is out, but distribution halted), there is no reason to make a Daily Call. Your HR10-250 gets all of its guide data via the satellite. If getting 6.3 is your concern, I recommend you bring your box to another location to make the Daily Call.

I read one user's experience with Vonage, and he said that with the new D-Link Vonage adapter, it works every time.

Yog,

Thanks for the reply.  The units will not allow me to begin use without the initial call.  Anytime I try to utilize a TIVO feature it defaults to the dial-up settings and forces the call.

If I make the initial call via a different location, will that initialize the DVR and allow me to receive updates via the satellite stream ?  Or is there a setting in the device that can skip the initial call ? Thank you very much.

I recommend you hack your HR10-250. You can, of course, use PTVnet, but there are other options, such as the "Zipper" (read the Underground forum at TiVo Community Forums).

You can read on how I upgraded my HR10-250 to 6.3a here

The other option for making a Daily Call would be to use the PPP serial method
