My SVR-2000 is done.  I can't even get it to boot.  Ran some diags on the drive and the drive is good.  I installed instant cake on it, but now would like to use it in my pc.  Is there are particular way to reverse the instant cake install or should I just slave the drive and format it thru windows?

Thanks...

Well something must have gone wrong.  I can see the hard drive in disk management only and it appears as 8MB - the drive is 80 gig's - any clue what to do now?

you'll have to find a utility called qunlock and unlock the disk.  Svr2000s lock the disk once they're installed in the system.

DANG! How does this qunlock work? Can you drop me a link?

You need to put in on a boot floppy and then run it as qunlock x

0=a primary master

1=b primary slave

2=c secondary master

3=d primary slave

so if the drive is on secondary master it would be

qunlock 2

You can download it here: http://www.9thtee.com/qunlock.exe

So I just copy this file to a floppy disk and boot to it?  When do I enter the qunlock x command?

make a bootable floppy, then copy this file to it.  Once the floppy boots, at the A:\ type qunlock x and it will tell you to restart your pc.  If you are quick enough, you'll be able to tell if it worked by looking at the bios info and seeing what size the drive is showing up as.

If I copy it to a windows 98 boot disk will that work?

Well this is where I am...

 I am able to see the entire drive capacity but I can not format it.  Windows XP suggest running chkdsk on it then trying to reactivate it.  I was able to assign it a drive letter and it appears to be visible - I just can't access it.  Any idea on what to do next?
