New to this forum and instantcake...

Upgraded TiVo in the past, but now I don't have a Fat32 machine to use...

 Questions:

1. My computer only has one IDE controller.  Does this count as 1 or 2 IDE interfaces?  Meaning do I need to be able to connect up to 4 drives, or is 2 on a single IDE controller enough?

2. I have an idle 40g drive that was an XP boot drive, can I use this in TiVo?  Will instantcake just erase everything so that it is usable? od do I have to do something to "clean" the drive using another utility?
