I have a sony directv t-60 tivo with a wire network connection and the hards drive failed. I have purchased a 120GB drive and wanted to know if I purchase InstantCake ISO will the network connection still work. I tried to copy my old but that didn't work.

Instantcake has the cachecard and turbonet drivers on it, so you will be able to use the caching feature of the cachecard or the networking feature of both, just make sure you put ,#401 in the dialing prefix.

If your old hard drive failed, copying it won't work.  You can try using dd_rescue to attempt to salvage the drive but if it's clicking or too badly damaged, it's just a waste of time.
