I have read the threads and this post is just a "sanity check" before I proceed because I haven't seen this question answered directly. I am a Noob to Tivo hacks but, generally, know my way around PCs. So be a little patient, I am trying to avoid a lengthy support thread in future.

 What I have:

1. HR10-250 Upgraded using IC to 500GB, works perfectly!

(Backed it up burned backup CD of factory drive, did clear all and delete etc.)

2. Second 500GB drive (not installed yet).

3. Have Linksys USB200M Vers. 1

(and I will get another e.g. FA120 if needed)

What I want to do:

1. Retain current recordings etc.

2. Add second drive

3. Add networking.

Proposed method:

1. Add second drive using Mfstools

(it will think I am upgrading factory drive?)

2. Run PTVnet using the "force" option (if necessary)

Is there a better approach?

Comments?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

This will most likely work fine.

Ensure that you run full diagnostics on the drive before adding it - remember, once a drive is added, you can't remove it, so a failure of either drive will cause headaches...
