I'm getting ready to upgrade my hughes HDVR2. Here's my plan:

1. By this drive Western Digital - Caviar 160GB Internal Hard Drive, or something similar (big and cheap)

2. Set up the drive using, PTVupgrade InstantCake™ and PTVupgrade PTVnet™

3. Follow the directions in this article, Discussion - Enabling MRV and HMO with a DirecTiVo (I'd like to us the Tivo Destop features)

I think that should work. Where I'll be left if all goes smoothly is a nice large dual tuner Tivo with all the features Dir**TV has been keeping from me. I'll also have a completely blank slate.

What I'd like to do is use something like MFStools to take the settings and recordings from the old drive to the new one. Is that possible, or would following instructions like Hinsdale-How-To screw up everything I just did?
