I'm trying to get the tivo to boot without restoring it's original state. It seems that killhdinitrd ver 0.9.3 has been upgraded to work on kernel 2.4.20 with timestamp 'Tue Feb 14 20:55:02 PST 2006'. My kernel appears to have a timestamp 'Tue Feb 14 20:57:16 PST 2006'. killhdinitrd returns 'no exploit found for this kernel'.

One possibility is that the kernal I'm using is specifically for the 595 models (HUMAX DRT400 DVD).

Am I doing something stupid or do I have a different kernel? If the latter is true, is there anything I can do to prevent the system from removing unauthorized software on boot?

TIA,
George
