This is really a low priority item, but it's worth asking... I am unable to post a transparent .gif in my profile. Images are bounded by a black box, regardless if they are transparent when uploaded.

Is this intentional? Just curious, not a big deal and not related to the gist of the site in any way.

regards,

patrick

patrick,

The black background on transparent gifs is not intentional, and is something we hope to have corrected in the future.

In the meantime, an easy work-around would be to load your image into just about any image software (Windows "Paint" should even do the trick), and resave the file as a JPEG. This will replace the transparent parts of the background with white, which should be much more appealing.

On the subject of GIFs, I see that animated GIFs don't work either. Cry
