There are other things for instance you can pull content to a computer and achive it. I personaly convert TiVo files for playing on my PSP. I have also used MY PSP on my home wireless network to access TiVo web where I can set up searches look at now playing lists and remote control the TiVo (can be handy when watching in a room where your TiVo is not). I have a Sony series 1(300 hours 2 120gig drives) and a Hughes Direct Tivo with dual tunner(700 hours). I am actualy in the middle of reupgrading my Direct TiVo right now it was at 265 hours when my main hard drive crashed so I just bought 2 300gig drives on sale for $99.99 I also bought a cash card and memory stick if you upgrade your drives you will notice it takes a little longer to get to now playing and scroll through it. It was already taking about 30 sec to pull up now playing with 265 hours(2 120gig hard drives) so with the new 300gig drives I thought the cash card was a good idea.
Perhaps a dumb question but I haven't read nor recall seeing anything addressing this question. Admittedly, I just stumbled across this forum, and a couple of others.
I had no idea there were "upgrades" available for DTV-TiVO.
If I had known I probably would have updated my 1st generation Phillips TIVO DTV rather than purchasing a new one.
I have just purchased and activated a Hughes 2nd generation (HR10-250) DTV-TIVO and was wondering if I were to do an upgrade using the IC imaging s/w to add a drive (or two) whether or not I would gain any features/functionality up and above those standard features that my current version TIVO has?
I have version 3.15f-01-2-357 installed to my HR10-250. I've read about TIVO releases of 6.x and above but am not sure if these releases would be applicable to my system following a IC s/w "upgrade"...
Please advise.
Thanks in advance-
