No one can offer advice/help?
Well I did end up buying InstantCake and PTVNet for my HR10-250, I'm just waiting for the Tivo to get to my house.
Will reloading the 250 and 300 gb drives solve my problem with the Tivo being stuck on 'Clear and Delete'?
I love this site, lots of great info, just not a whole lot of people offering advice (which I could use alot of).

I recently purchased a 550GB (250gb and 300gb) HR10-250 from eBay that is stuck on the 'clearing and deleting, this will take an hour' message. I was planning on buying IC to bring this back to life. Assuming that the hard drive(s) are corrupt in some way, is there anything I should do before I just run IC on them to reformat and reinstall the software on these drives?
Is there any troubleshooting I can do before hand? I am assuming there is no way of saving the original image off of the 'A' drive before I get started.
So I ask the experts, is there anything I'm missing before I go and buy IC then run it on the Tivo drives? I have been reasing up all night and think I understand what to do, but since I'm new to the site, I want to make sure that I do not miss anything.
