i too have been haveing the same thing happen to me, if anyone ever figures this one out, id be forever greatfull!
Hey y'all.
I'm trying to connect to my TiVo with TyTool from work. I have successfully connected to my TiVo from within my LAN at home.
I have port forwarding enabled for web and telnet so that I can see TivoWeb and I can telnet to my Tivo successfully. I can run TyTool and successfully start tserver (verified by telnetting in and checking the process list).
(IP addresses xxx'd out for security reasons)
Telneting to the TIVO...
Connecting to 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx'
Connected...
We got 'bash-2.02# ' which is the prompt!
bash-2.02# /var/hack/tserver
Doing the Lowest PriorityFix...
Waiting for an incoming connection!
However, when I try to get a directory of now showing within TyTool, I get the error:
Reading list from the server...
Clear Now Showing List...
Connecting to 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx'
ERROR: Failed to Connect!
My first thought is that I don't have port forwarding enabled for ftp. Does TyTool use FTP to get files and directories from the TiVo?
My second thought is that it could be a firewall issue. I have windows firewall running but I have entered TyTool as an exception.
Has anyone run into this problem?
Thanks!
