I installed the Cachecard & latest drivers with 512MB RAM into my a Tivo Series 1 HDR31203.

All network functions appear to be working. The "Now Showing" list displays 5X faster then without the card.

When I bring up the guide of current (live) shows and arrow up/down through the list it is very erratic. In the past it would smoothly scroll through the channel listings (1,2,3,4,5, etc), now it hesitates and jumps through (1,3,7,10, etc).

Since "real" channel surfing is difficult with the Tivo I use the guide to see what is on. This is now difficult since it does not scroll smoothly.

The log file is at the end of this message if anyone would care to look at it.

I have tried 2 CahceCards and several sticks of memory.

Thanks

Have you tried taking the cachecard out and seeing if the problem goes away? Sounds like a very odd problem that might not even be related to the CacheCard....

Not only does the problem go away when I remove the CacheCard (this is the second CC I have tried so I know that the CC is good), but I restored an OLD pristine Tivo backup and after installing the CC and drivers the same problem returned.

That's weird. Unfortunately, its sounding more and more like it might be a problem with your TiVo. Again, I've never seen this problem before, but through process of elimination, its looking like that could be the problem. You might want to try to clean the edge connectors of the system board using some rubbing alcohol and a cotton swap or Q-Tip. Keep in mind that there are connectors on BOTH sides of the system board, so you might want to disassemble things enough so that you can lift the board and get underneath to clean the contact... beyond that, I can't think of anything else it could be.

I actually cleaned the connections prior to installing the CC. I previously had a TivoNet card installed and was told that there was no installation of drivers etc needed before installing the CC.

I am pretty sure that my BU predated the TivoNet card.

Know of any hack to change the menu scroll speed while holding down the up/down keys?

Thanks

I don't....

As your next step, you might want to head over to silicondust.com and see if you can get Nick's (jafa's) attention. Unfortunately, its sounding very much like an isolated problem or there would be more posts like yours out there...
