I've read others mentioning their installs halting at line 43 with a cryptic error code and going to the root shell prompt. My install stopped with the following message after starting to clean up after the restore:

/etc/rc.d/rc.S: line 43: 50 Termination /cdrom/.live/bin/PTVbak

Anybody know what's on lines 30 to 60 of the script?

I was trying to bake a 160GB single drive Series 1 Sony SVR-2000. I suspect it's probably a lack of ramdisk space as I think the PC only has 64MB of RAM.

Minimum RAM was not in the hardware requirements but given the tasks at hand, that would be my guess.

Addendum: Looks like the BIOS doesn't handle > 128GB drives so this could also be the problem.

A more definitive answer would be appreciated.

It sounds like a PC incompatibility issue of some sort. Possibly any or all of what you just mentioned. Once you've isolated the problem, please follow-up with the 'more definitive' information so that others may benefit from your newly found knowledge!

[edit: This user confirmed after redownloading that it was an incomplete ISO; not an incompatible CD]
