I am just starting to read about which options I have available to me to upgrade my tivo. I would like to add more hard drive space to store movies I currently have in divx or avi format. I own a Hughes SD-DVR40 that I will be upgrading to do this. I am looking at using this tivo for HMO. First could someone tell me if I should just use 1 drive or install 2 new drives. The first would be a replacement maxtor 40 gb that would replace the orginal tivo drive. The 2nd drive would be a 300 gb seagate used for storage of my movies. Should I use the two drives or just use the 300 gb? 2nd question is does the tivo store files typical to the way a computer does. For expample I could get 200+ movies in divx format if I have this drive on my pc. Would the tivo allow me to do the same or is it still based on the recording time. Thansk for any help.
