PTVNet disables the "phone home," not the modem itself, so it's perfectly safe to use elseed. It's very easy to fix the elseed issue: http://www.dvrplayground.com/forum/thread/11472/ .

the 2nd link for elseed only seems to have 1 file that I dont know what to do with

Just overwrite the existing elseed file; nothing else needs to be changed (just restart elseed with Hackman).

I hate to bring back old posts but the topic here is exactly what I need help with.

I too am getting the double image with YAC on my (2) Hughes SD-DVR40 D-Tivo (which have been PTVnet'ed and InstantCake'ed (6.2)....

I have a caller id capable modem in the main computer on my network, it is getting the caller id info and sending it to the (2) Tivos... the info appears on the screen but is difficult to read since in it kind of a double image....

Any test messages sent from the YAC server also appear doubled.... I tried the "Enable Translucent Windows" both ways and it changes nothing....

Another interesting effect is if a Tivo Info box (text dispaly) is on the screen when the YAC info comes through that gets "doubled" too.....

On all three main TIVO hacking forums I see posts talking of this problem, but so far no fixes.

Has anybody here ever gotten around this problem? Thanks in advance.
