I just ordered InstantCake for Series2 Standalone and the LBA48-401DD PTVupgrade LBA48 4.01 with Enhancements because the website I was following directions from a web site (http://www.weethet.nl/english/tivo_dtv2_os4hackrid.php) in order to hack my Directivo satellite box for upgrading to the networking options.
Here is what I have before I begin:
1. Hughes HDVR2 (40G Harddrive - original drive running ver. 3.01)
2. Linksys USB200M network adapter
3. Maxtor 200G Hard Drive (Which I was able to upgrade to successfully)
4. Image File (ICAKE-S2SA) & LBA48-401DD PTVupgrade LBA48 4.01 with Enhancements - both burned onto a disk following the directions from the web site I mention from above.
I am able to use the boot disk to boot into Linux and I'm able to load the image file successfully. I then apply all of the hacks mentioned for the networking options. I did have one question about my Directivo unit. It's says the model# is HDVR2, there are extra steps in the hack instructions that say ignore if my unit is a RID model. I did not see any RID number on the back of my unit therefore I skipped the step. The step basically replaces the original DSSAPP with a new one. I did not do this step. Anyway after applying all hacks and getting the drive back into the Directivo unit I was able to get it to boot to an Error #51 screen which is "Error tuning Live TV". My USB network adapter lights can on for the first time. I was excited thinking I was getting somewhere finally. I proceed to the next step which was to "Clear and Delete Everything". I did that and it rebooted and came back up. The lights to the USB network adapter would not come back on. I went into the settings for setting up the network in the TCP/IP settings and they were no longer there. They seemed to have disappeared after Clearing and Deleting Everything.
I am at a loss here with many wasted hours into this project. Am I using the wrong version of something, not doing something I should? I know your company is successful in making all of this work. Is there anything you can help me with please?
