What burning software are you using? I was having the same problem and switch media thinking that was it. I burned 3 different disk using Nero and they would stop at different places. Switched over to Roxio and it went great...Good Luck Michael

Cake bake problem

I used Roxio creator classic (version 6.1.1.48 circa 2003)as the software. I downloaded the iso image twice with exactly the same result. I tried my other CD rom drive, etc etc without any success and the same result. I reformatted the drive in advance in the FAT32 format from Dr-DOS with the Maxtor Maxblast software, no difference.
Thanks for the thought though ! Any other ideas would be appreciated.

You might download the free version of Nero and try that. When I did my DSR6000 Roxio didnt work and nero did and the opposite on my dsr7000. Good luck Michael

Thanks again. I made another copy with another ISO burner, however I got the same result with the restore process stopping in exactly the same place. There might be some timing issue that causes this . Any other ideas for others would be appreciated.
Anyone else used a Maxtor Diamondmax 10 EIDE disk and have similar problems?
Any settings I can change?

Problem Solved

I may have figured out my own solution. I assumed that there was a possible timing problem causing the system to not be able to write to the drive. I have two memory modules which are DDR (Double Data Rate). I removed one of the memory modules and tried again and it states that it baked correctly!:) Hopefully it will now work when I install it.
Hope this might work for others if they have a similar problem.
I appreciate your help Mike and everyone else that gave it some thought!
