After reading and trying to intake as much as I can, I believe I have figured out what I need but I wish to confirm it before ordering. To add a second drive to my Hughes SD-DVR40 running 6.2 while retaining my current settings and recorded content, I would need:

1 Series 2 Add-on Bracket set.
1 Universal Upgrade CD

Since I regularly build PCs, I have plenty of spare drives, ribbon cables and power adapters. Also, several bench PCs that I can connect to. It would also appear that this model TIVO would not require the power surge preventor?

Question 1: Does this include detail "Guide" information or do I need to find this elsewhere?

#2: This should work with nearly any UDMA 133, 7200 rpm EIDE drive such as Western Digital or Maxtor?

Networking is not a top priority ar this time.

That will work fine. There are no additional instructions or guides included with the CD; the CD is designed to be compatible with the guides currently available at tivocommunity.com and other DIY sites.
