Formatted a new 160 gig HD with InstantCake with no apparent problems and installed it in my Humax DRT800, about 10 days ago. I seems to be functioning properly except that the drive's recording capacity is being reported as 286 hours at basic quality. Compared the the information in other posts, this seems to be wrong.

Anyone have an idea what the problem might be and if can be safely ignored?

Not sure what other posts you are referring to; can you please provide links and/or just respond to one of those other posts with the question?

In trying to find out what the capacity should be, I looked at dozens of posts, FAQs, etc. My recollection was that 286 hours seemed quite high. Is it?

If so, do you have an idea of what the problem might be?

Thanks for the prompt response.

That does seem high. Its not something I'd worry about, but I'd ask that you double check the actual model of the hard drive you are using. The data on our web site would suggest much lower capacities for a 160GB drive (check the replacement drive kits available for your type of unit and the drive sizes used...)
